Rocking The Oils Facebook Page Final Analysis

The Facebook page I took on was my sister's business page. She is a Wellness Advocate for doTERRA, The oil business is the latest in alternative health. There are many different oil companies out there, so she has a lot of competition. She lives in California and is always looking for new people to help out. She loved that I would help her with her Facebook page, because she hasn't really seen any success with it. She has even taken a few webinars on how to expand business by using Facebook and Twitter. The only draw back was she wouldn't let me actually post anything, change her profile picture, or cover photo. I even suggested that she change the About part of her page. It was too long and confusing. I just looked to see if she took my advice and she did. It is shorter and has more of an objective. I informed her what posts got more likes and to post more of them. She sometimes took my advice and sometimes she didn't.

The posts that worked were the monthly promotions the company had, the things the oils can be used for, and the black Friday specials. I actually wanted to boost her page of some posts that got a lot of likes. I offered to pay for the minimum amount. I am a poor college student with small children. Once I offered to pay she decided to pay for it because it was her page. We both didn't know if she would get anymore traffic. I told her that it never hurts to try. She ended up doing a page promotion that lasted 2-3 days and during that time she got 83 new likes. She was so excited and I was thrilled for her. She says she likes Instagram more because she knows how to use it. I said it would be a great idea to put her Instagram information on her page, so people could follow her there as well.

The things that didn't work were posts she shared from another person's page. Like her friends page or things she saw other people posting on their pages. She is competing with a lot of people, essential oils are everywhere and there are many pages for people to chose from. If she posts original stuff, like what oils she is using in her personal life, people will come to her page. My favorite was when she got out stains in her couch using essential oils. I saw how many likes that post got and that is when I told her she should post more stuff like that.

So this post is actually my dirty little secret. Literally. As a first time mom I didn't even think twice about what would be a good couch with a kid. The fancy couch we got was a big mistake. With the food, leaky sippy cups, and food pouches my couch didn't stand a chance. I didn't have a clue how to clean it. Whenever anyone would come over I would strategically place a laundry basket or blanket down. Today I just went for it to see what my OnGuard Cleaner Concentrate would do.
That big dark blob was months old!
Thank you again DoTerra!!

Our goal was to see if we could get more likes for her page and possibly more customers. By posting frequently, using new and unique information, and a page promotion we were able to accomplish what we set out  to do. It took us a few months to get it together, but we did it. During the time I have been helping out with her Facebook page she has gotten eight new clients. The thing I would do different would be to create my own page. It is hard working for another family member, trying to motivate them, and inform them on what needs to be done. Once we started communicating better things started taking off.  I am glad she is happy and her business is growing. I hope she will keep her page going. This experience was a good one and I have learned a lot from it.
